Like father, like sons and daughters is an appropriate saying for the DeForest and Greaves families!

Bret DeForest, (DDS ’85) is a twice proud papa. He celebrated his daughter’s, Whitney (DeForest) Hewett (DDS ’14, MS Ort ’16), graduation from the UMKC Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics program, Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016. Then he celebrated another graduation in May 2017 when his son, Aaron, crossed the stage at the School’s commencement ceremony.

Dr. David Greaves, also a member of the DDS Class of 1985, can boast of two of his brood following in his UMKC footsteps. One son, Michael Greaves (L), donned graduation regalia in May, crossed the commencement stage and joined his father among the ranks of UMKC dental alumni. Another son, Matthew Greaves, earned his UMKC DDS degree in 2014 (coincidentally with Whitney (DeForest) Hewett).
