Ready to elevate your career? Our online degree completion program – Registered Dental Hygiene (RDH) to Bachelor of Science Dental Hygiene (BSDH) – was created with working professionals in mind. Students can attend part time while working or fulfilling family obligations. UMKC helps students tailor a course schedule based on your existing dental hygiene degree, career expectations and personal and professional educational needs.
The collaborative and challenging program opens several new avenues for jobs in education, program administration, public health, advanced clinical practice, specialized patient care and research. Courses emphasize evidence-based practice in the biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences. All courses are completed online. Some courses can be completed 24 hours a day while other instructors require students to meet online at specific times. Out-of-state students may qualify for in-state tuition or the greatly reduced Heartland Rate.
Our intensive program gives students a competitive edge in the job market. Our courses were created to ensure graduates step into leadership roles and find diverse jobs. We offer something that’s unsurpassed in the region. UMKC is home to the only public dental school in Missouri or Kansas. We offer our students access to nationally-recognized researchers, advanced laboratories, extensive oral health libraries and a vast network of employers. Dental hygiene students will also benefit from UMKC’s emphasis on interprofessional connections among its life sciences students – be it dental, pharmacy, medical or nursing and health studies.
