Program Approval
We're partners with the American Dental Education Association and the Academy for Advancing Leadership in sponsoring the Institute for Allied Health Educators, a professional development program for allied health and health profession faculty.
We are an American Dental Assocation (ADA) CERP Recognized Provider through the American Dental Association, which assists dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credits hours by boards of dentistry. The current term of approval extends November 2023 through December 2027.
We are also an approved Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) PACE Provider (#214214), with approval from January 2025 through December 2028.
Verify the requirements of your state licensing board before registering for our continuing education courses. Continuing education credits issued for participation in our courses may not apply toward license renewal in all states.
Commercial Interests and Conflicts of Interest
We have an obligation to disseminate new knowledge in the dental field. Some new knowledge or techniques may be considered controversial. Sponsorship of a continuing education program by the UMKC School of Dentistry does not mean endorsement of a product or technique.
Our continuing education courses are noncommercial forums. Under no circumstances should the session podium be used as a place for direct promotion of a speaker’s product, service or monetary self-interest. Speakers are not allowed to sell products or make a profit from items offered in their session’s room.
Please request a conflict of interest disclaimer if you are a speaker affiliated with, or have a financial interest in any organization(s) that may be co-supporting a course or may have a direct interest in the subject matter of the presentation.
The intent of this policy is not to prevent a speaker with an affiliation or financial interest from making a presentation. It is intended that any potential conflicts are identified openly at the beginning of the presentation, so that the attendees have the full disclosure of the facts and may form their own judgments about the presentation.
