• The SOD Academic Support and Coaching Coordinator is available to discuss success plans, personal and academic struggles, general concerns, school policies, absences, life-balance, organization strategies, time-management, accommodations, and serve as a liaison to other support services available to students.  Contact Bear Price, 816-235-2172, Room 3120B.
• UMKC Counseling Services is a comprehensive mental health resource for all students providing individual counseling (in-person or tele-counseling), group counseling, relationship counseling, crisis intervention, psychological assessment, substance abuse prevention, outreach & consultation services, and referral services. The Initial consultation and first eight counseling sessions are FREE and then a minimal fee per session following.  Group counseling and workshops are FREE and UNLIMITED.  Emergency intake appointments are available every day at 10am and 2pm (please call first).

    • SOD Student Staff Emergency Fund – The missions of the Dr. Roy J. Rinehart Memorial Foundation, the Dental Alumni Association and the Dental Hygiene Association have always been to support the UMKC School of Dentistry and our community. With that in mind, these three groups have established a Student Staff Emergency Fund. The application for assistance can be found here. Applications can be submitted to wheath@umkc.edu and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • SOD Scholarships are generously provided through funds held in the Dr. Roy J. Rinehart Memorial Foundation, the Dental Alumni Association, the Dental Hygiene Alumni Association, and UMKC Foundation. Continuing students must complete an annual scholarship application which typically becomes available in May and closes in early June.  Contact Danita Johnson, Coordinator of Records and Registration, with any questions.
