CE Credits

The number of continuing education credits you will receive for completing a course is listed in each course description. Participants are given verification of completion at the end of each course. Participants who pre-register will be able to pick up their CE certificates at the end of the day.

Eligibility

Dentists holding degrees from accredited schools are eligible to attend these course, as are laboratory technicians, dental hygienists, dental assistants and other team member where indicated.

Affiliations

The UMKC School of Dentistry is not responsible for providing liability or malpractice insurance in workshop courses. Participants enrolled in course which requires patient will be asked to provide proof of such insurance coverage.

Program Approval

Continuing education credits issued for participation in CE activities may not apply toward license renewal in all states. It is the responsibility of each participant to verify the requirements of his/her state licensing board(s). Participants should retain this document for their records. University of Missouri of Kansas City School of Dentistry is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credits hours by boards of dentistry. The current term of approval extends November 2023 through December 2027. The school is also an approved Academy of General Dentistry AGD/PACE provider (#214214) with approval from January 2022 through December 2024.

Confirmation

Your confirmation letter/payment receipt will be e-mailed from the continuing education office upon course registration.

Course Changes/Cancellation and Refund Policy

UMKC School of Dentistry’s Continuing Dental Education department reserves the right to cancel or modify a course when circumstances warrant, including insufficient enrollment. Dates, faculty or course content will be changed only when unavoidable. If a course has been cancelled, participants will be notified and a refund will be issued in the same form as your original payment for the course. The Continuing Dental Education department cannot be responsible for non-refundable airfare or other expenses in the event of a course cancellation.

A full refund will be issued for all cancellations received in writing 2 weeks prior to the course date. A 50% refund will be given for cancellations received in writing 1 week prior to course start date, with NO refunds thereafter. Refunds will not be provided for same-day cancellations or no-shows. Refunds cannot be given for cancellations on or after the course start date. Tuition paid by credit card will need to be refunded back to the card charged for the tuition. Please allow two to six weeks for all refunds. The telephone number for the Office of Continuing Dental Education accepts messages 24 hours a day (816) 235-2142.

It is the responsibility of the participant to contact the Continuing Dental Education office to confirm receipt of cancellation request. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of tuition. Proof of request may be required.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry has an obligation to disseminate new knowledge in the dental field. Some new knowledge or techniques may be considered controversial. Commercial Interests and Conflict of Interest

UMKC CE Sessions are noncommercial forums. Under no circumstances should the session podium be used as a place for direct promotion of a speaker’s product, service, or monetary self-interest.  Speakers are not allowed to sell products or make a profit from items offered in their session’s room. A conflict of interest disclaimer exists if a speaker is affiliated with, or has a financial interest in any organization(s) that may be co-supporting a course or may have a direct interest in the subject matter of the presentation. The intent of this policy is not to prevent a speaker with an affiliation or financial interest from making a presentation. It is intended that any potential conflicts are identified openly at the beginning of the presentation, so that the attendees have the full disclosure of the facts and may form their own judgments about the presentation.

We encourage you to register early! This will enable us to protect course enrollment and avoid any unnecessary cancellation of a course.
