Meet our Newest Faculty Members

Dr. Timothy M. Barry has joined the faculty as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. Dr. Barry earned a BA in a biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (’80) from UMKC School of Dentistry.

Dr. Erin Ealba Bumann has joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. Dr. Bumann earned her BS (’04), DDS (’08), MS (’17), and certificate in Pediatric Dentistry (’17) from the University of Michigan. She earned her PhD (’13) from the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Susan K. Kessler has joined the faculty as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. Dr. Kessler earned her bachelor of science in Dental Hygiene degree (’80) and DDS degree (’90) from the UMKC School of Dentistry.

Dr. Owen S. Lonergan has joined the faculty as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry. Dr. Lonergan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego, Revelle College; a Masters in Public Health from the Arizona School of Health Sciences; and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, AT Still University. Dr. Lonergan received his MD from UMKC School of Medicine and a certificate from the UMKC Advanced Education in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery program.

Dr. Linda Seabaugh has joined the faculty as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. Dr. Seabaugh earned Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UMKC in 1988 and then completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kan. Before joining the dental faculty, Dr. Seabaugh was in private practice in Prairie Village, Kan., for 26 years.

Dr. Edward Shamieh has joined the faculty as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences and Emergency Dentistry. Dr. Shamieh earned his BS degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from the University of California, Davis, and his DDS degree (’12) from Columbia University
