While it’s not at all unusual for our alumni to support our School, our students and our activities, it is a bit rare for a non-alum to go out of his way to show support. But that’s exactly what Jim Biggs, father of fourth-year dental student Lindsay Biggs, did by sponsoring a family-oriented foursome in the annual UMKC Dental Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament, Friday, June 3. Lindsay had been one of the 17 recipients of the 2016–17 UMKC Dental Alumni Golf Tournament Scholarships, so her dad thought it was fitting for him to support the cause that had supported his daughter.

“We definitely were not the best golfers,” said Jim, “but playing with my daughter Lindsay, as well as our significant others, Brenda and Derek, was a great time for a good cause. I enjoyed getting to meet some of Lindsay’s professors and classmates that she talks about. Everyone who was involved in putting the tournament together did a fantastic job. We will definitely play in it again!”
