Bridget Fitzhugh Receives National Recognition for Dental Hygiene Research

This July, Bridget Fitzhugh, RDH, MSDH, FADHA, attended the 2023 American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) Annual Session meeting, where she presented her research entitled, “Experiences of Dental Hygienists as Myofunctional Therapists.” Bridget competed for a Dentsply Sirona/ADHA Graduate Student Clinician’s Research Program Award and won first place.

This award is granted to the top three presentations and honors the promotion of dental hygiene research by supporting one graduate dental hygiene student from each graduate program offering a Master of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and related disciplines.

Prof. Julie Sutton, Associate Professor served as Bridget’s Committee Chair and Dr. Kim Bray, Professor and Prof. Tanya Mitchell, Professor and Director, all from the Division of Dental Hygiene, were Committee members.
