Tanya Villalpando Mitchell, RDH, MS has been a full-time faculty member in the Division of Dental Hygiene since 2001.   She teaches in each of the Division’s three programs – including Entry-Level, Degree Completion and Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Education. She has received teaching awards including the UMKC School of Dentistry Distinguished Teacher Award and the Elmer F. Pierson Good Teaching Award. Prof. Mitchell is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the American Dental Education Association.  She has published manuscripts and presented continuing education and posters as well as served on panels and committees at national meetings.
