Remembering a Legend
It was with great sadness that the UMKC School of Dentistry community learned of the passing of Dr. John I. Haynes on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. As a beloved alumnus, faculty member and friend, Dr. Haynes had an incalculable impact on the lives of virtually everyone who passed through the School during the past 50+ years. His friendly, upbeat and caring nature will be dearly missed, as will his stories about and dedication to his beloved UMKC.
Dr. Haynes’ life and passing were celebrated with a Rosary prayer service, followed by a visitation Friday, August 1. His Mass of Christian Burial service was held Saturday, August 2, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Rinehart Foundation and mailed to:
