Biography

Dr. Paul G. Luepke, D.D.S., M.S., FACD, joins the UMKC School of Dentistry as Dean with a rich blend of clinical expertise, academic leadership, and a heart for service. A board-certified periodontist and retired U.S. Navy Captain, Dr. Luepke brings more than 30 years of experience, including 21 years of military service, marked by integrity, mentorship, and a passion for education. He has held leadership roles at the University of Tennessee and Marquette University, where he developed nationally accredited programs and supported generations of students and faculty. Known for his approachable style and steady leadership, Dr. Luepke is also an active voice in national dental organizations, including service as President of the American Board of Periodontology.  He earned his DDS from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Dentistry and MS from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio and he is a Fellow, American College of Dentists.  His many honors, including multiple national mentoring awards, reflect a career dedicated not only to excellence, but to uplifting others along the way.
