Make a difference in patients’ lives was the theme of this year’s annual celebration and fund raiser. Guests savored an unforgettable evening of 5 delectable courses with professionally selected pairings, entertainment, silent and live auctions, and recognition of the 3rd Annual John Haynes Leadership through Service Awardee Dr. John Killip. Proceeds from Pouring from the Heart assist the UMKC School of Dentistry in providing free, comprehensive, quality dental care to our community.

All proceeds from Pouring from the Heart assist the UMKC School of Dentistry in providing free, comprehensive, quality dental care to our community. A significant portion of the population desperately need care. In 2016 alone, 1,759 patients were unable to afford or complete payments on their treatments. The funds raised through Pouring from the Heart lower this number AND provide patients experiences we take for granted, including the ability to eat solid foods, enjoy pain-free oral health, feeling confident talking and interacting with others. Not only does this assistance directly help the community surrounding the School, but it affects our students: providing them the opportunity to experience making an impact on a patient’s life, helping them find cases to meet their clinical requirements and teaching them the importance of giving to others.
