Members of the Dental Class of 2021 and the Dental Hygiene Class of 2020 Honored as they “Transition into the Profession”

The DDS Class of 2021 and DH Class of 2020 were welcomed to the clinical phase of their educational programs during the annual Transitioning into the Profession Ceremony, held Friday, June 7, 2019, at the Unity Temple on the Plaza. Dr. Aparna Naidu, Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine, master of ceremonies, along with Dean Marsha Pyle welcomed everyone. The keynote speaker was Dr. Bill Busch, founder of the Team Smiles children’s charitable care program and practicing dentist in North Kansas City, MO. Representatives of the Dental Hygiene Class of 2020 and the Dental Class of 2021 took turns reading their respective Code of Ethics, which were then signed by each class member as they crossed the stage to be presented with a white coat (DDS students) or scrubs (DH students). Following the ceremony, participants and well-wishers adjourned to the School of Dentistry for a reception and informal tours.
