Golfers got the chance to dust off their clubs for the annual UMKC Dental Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament on June 24. This year’s event was held at Winter Stone Golf Course in Independence, Missouri. It was a stormy start to the day, but the sunshine and great weather prevailed by tee time.

Since its inception 22 years ago, the tournament has raised more than $270,000 for student scholarships. This year’s event featured a scramble tournament, a putting contest and a wingspan raffle. Joe Spalitto (D.D.S. ’72), who is chair of the Golf Tournament Committee, said a few words to kick things off, followed by Dean Steven Haas, who thanked everyone for coming out. The School of Dentistry also had several sponsored student golfers who joined in on the fun out on the green this year.
