Dr. Viviane Hass earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS), Master and PhD in Dentistry at State University of Ponta Grossa, Brazil. Prior to moving to the USA, she practiced private dentistry. In addition, she also served as associate professor in Brazil, in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences of the UMKC School of Dentistry. Her research is focused on mechanical, biochemical, and ultrastructural properties of dental tissues, as well as the development of biomaterials toward the biostability of the interfaces between dental materials and tooth structures aiming the improvement of quality and clinical durability of restorative procedures. Dr. Hass actively serves as a peer reviewer in several journals and has been an author of several scientific publications throughout her career
