Dr. Vandana Kumar, DDS, MDS, MS is a Diplomat in Oral and Maxillofacial radiology and currently holds a position of Associate Professor in the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the Department of Oral Pathology, Medicine and Oral Radiology at UMKC School of Dentistry, Kansas City, MO, where she teaches oral radiology didactic and clinical courses to pre-doctoral DDS and dental hygiene students. She also works closely with graduate students in other disciplines of dentistry. She earned her MS in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from UNC Chapel Hill and shortly after earned her diplomat status from The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr. Kumar is also an internationally qualified specialist who received her training in Dentistry and master’s in Operative Dentistry and Endodontics from India, later she received her DDS from UMKC School of Dentistry. Dr. Kumar is currently serving on various committees in the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. She has co-authored the position paper published jointly by AAE and AAOMR. She has numerous articles, research abstracts to her credit and serves as the adhoc reviewer to journal of DMFR, JDE and Angle Orthodont. She has also authored chapters in books. Dr. Kumar has made various presentations nationally and internationally. She is the past president of the special section of oral and maxillofacial radiology of ADEA. Her current interest and area of research are in application of CBCT in Implant dentistry and Orthodontics
