Dr. Edwards earned his DDS degree from UMKC School of Dentistry in 1981. He then completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Portland, Oregon in 1982. From 1982 to 1984, he studied at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, earning a Certificate in the Specialty of Endodontics and a Master of Science Degree. He achieved American Board Certification in 1989. He was in private practice limited to Endodontics in Leawood, Kansas for 23 years. He has served as the Endodontic Consultant for the General Practice Residency at Truman Medical Center (Lakewood Campus) in Lee’s Summit, Missouri since 2009. He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor in Endodontics at UMKC School of Dentistry since 2011 where he is the Director of the Pre-Clinical Endodontic Laboratory and the Director of the Honors Endodontic Program. He lectures in both of the Pre-Doctoral Endodontic courses and teaches in the Pre-Doctoral clinic as well as the Advanced Endodontic clinic.
