Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Pierluigi Balice is a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor at UMKC School of Dentistry. He obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) cum laude from the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, Italy, his country of origin. Dr. Balice completed his three year specialty training at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he received a Certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Dental Science degree. He has been one of the recipients of the Tannenbaum/Schoor Award by the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. Prior to moving to the United States he practiced dentistry in Italy. He also attended the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain and the University of British Columbia, Canada for internships as well as being in London, UK in private practice. He is an active member of several dental organizations. He teaches pre-doctoral students and periodontics residents at UMKC and he currently practices periodontics and implant dentistry in the UMKC Faculty Practice. He speaks English, Italian and Spanish.
