Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Melynda Meredith earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Biological Sciences in 2003, followed by her D.D.S. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007. She spent the subsequent seven years working as an associate dentist in a private practice and as a staff dentist in an urban public health facility. She has been very active in the Greater Kansas City Dental Society and is an annual MOMOM (free dental care event) volunteer.
She joined the faculty at UMKC School of Dentistry in January of 2014. The majority of her time is spent on the clinic floor, interacting with students as well as patients. She also acts as Practice Coordinator for the third year dental class that she oversees. She has served as a faculty mentor for Table Clinics and serves as faculty advisor for two student organizations: Student Professionalism and Ethics Association and the Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program. In May 2014, she received the Colgate Scholarship to attend the Institute for Teaching and Learning two-phase academic leadership program, which she completed in October 2014. She recently joined the 2016-2017 class of University of Missouri Faculty Scholars.
