The School of Dentistry was not able to participate in the traditional “National Take Your Kids to Work Day” last spring, so the School invited the children and grandchildren of staff, faculty, and students to come to work with their family member on Monday, August 14. Around 35 children participated in the day. Beyond “working,” the children enjoyed planned activities that included making finger impressions, learning how to brush and floss, pretending to be a dentist in the selfie station, face painting, getting a surprise from the prize machine in the pediatric clinic, eating pizza, watching cartoons, and enjoying a shaved ice treat at the end of the day! Several families also visited the Toy and Miniature Museum which offered free admissions to UMKC employees and their families. It was a great day for SOD families and many kids asked to come back again the next day!  Photos from the day.
