The University and School are Closed for the Winter Break

New this year, the University will be closed for winter break from Dec. 26 until Jan. 2, 2018. This includes the Alumni and Development Office. If you or someone you know still needs to make a year end gift to the Rinehart Foundation there is still time! Checks must be post-marked by December 31st or skip the crazy mail lines and make your gift online here.

As the year draws to a close, we want to thank you for all you do for the students, faculty, and staff here at the School. We are so thankful for the generous and supportive alumni we have and get to interact with every day.

Happy Holidays!

Welcome DDS Class of 2021

Incoming dental students were hosted by The Office of Students Programs at its annual Welcome Reception on Friday, March 3, 2017. Members of the Dental Class of 2021, guests, and the UMKC School of Dentistry community had an opportunity to come together and celebrate their acceptance into dental school. It is a pre-orientation to offer information to the students about the path ahead and the financial picture of paying for dental school and student debt management.

Over 85 percent of the incoming students were in attendance at this optional program. The total attendance, including guests, was over 200. The incoming class will return to the School of Dentistry August 18 to begin their first year of dental school. The geographic distribution of the 109 new students includes the following states: MO (68), KS (22), NM (5), HI (4), AR (2), OK (1), IL (3), CT (1), Kuwait (3). The class includes 57 females and 52 males. Their average science GPA is 3.7 and their DAT academic average is 19.3. They all possess extensive dental experience through observation and assisting, as well as extensive community service participation.
