The Office of Student Programs is pleased to announce that Jimi Sode and Angela Emig have joined the school's admissions staff.

Sode will serve as the senior manager for dental admissions. He brings experience and a proven track record of success with more than nine years working in secondary and higher education. His varied experiences within admissions, recruitment and diversity will provide a strong foundation as a leader for the School of Dentistry.

Sode has a bachelor's degree in Biology from Pittsburg State University and a master's degree in Health Administration from Missouri State University. His most recent work experiences include working as the coordinator for equity and diversity with Springfield Public Schools and assistant director of admissions for diversity outreach and recruitment at Missouri State University.

Sode's passion for access to higher education and his strong ability to make connections will be invaluable in meeting our future goals.

Emig assumes the role of student service coordinator working with prospective dental hygiene students, STAHR students and the Kuwait program. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Truman State University with minors in business, international studies and art history.

She has diverse work experiences in the fields of insurance and higher education. She spent seven years as an enrollment services coordinator at UMKC's International Student Affairs Office and most recently, worked in event and floral design. Emig said she is excited to return to higher education.
