A horde of enthusiastic faculty, staff, students, alumni, and their families and friends turned out for the KC Royals’ opening-day game against the Oakland A’s, Monday, April 10, 2017. As has been customary since 1988 — when the late John Haynes (BS ′56, DDS ′60, MA ′71) organized the first opening day outing — the UMKC faithful have enjoyed a pre-game, parking lot picnic hosted by the UMKC Dental Alumni Association. Even though the Royals fell to the A’s 2-0, the day was a big win for the UMKC contingent.
