Department of Oral Biology

The Department of Oral Biology research program encompasses three major areas: Biomaterials/Bioengineering, Mineralized Tissue Biology, and Translational and Clinical Research and promotes an interdisciplinary approach to research. Total grant funding for the Department of Oral Biology for the last fiscal year was over five million dollars. In 2004 the department moved into a 14,000 square foot expansion for the Biomaterials Program and the Bone Biology Research Program. Grant funding is acquired from sources as diverse as federal agencies, commercial entities, and subcontracts with other universities and corporations.
