Advanced Education Programs

The School of Dentistry offers advanced education programs leading to graduate certificates in six dental specialty areas recognized by the American Dental Association: endodontics, oral and maxillofacial radiology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, periodontics and a pediatric dentistry program in cooperation with Children's Mercy Hospital. The school also offers advanced education certificate program in general dentistry. Other graduate programs include the Master of Science in Oral Biology, the Master of Science Dental Hygiene Education, and the Interdisciplinary Ph.D.

Each graduate certificate program is designed to prepare students for specialty practice and/or to meet the educational training requirements for examination by the appropriate American dental specialty board. All graduate certificate programs begin with the summer term and vary in length from 12 to 72 months.
