Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics

The advanced education program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics has existed for nearly five decades and graduates are currently practicing in 36 states and four foreign countries. This is a full-time, 26-month program that begins in July. The computerized clinic facility is a working-research model that simulates the private practice environment. Students can also complete an M.S. degree in oral biology. The orthodontist is a dentist specialized in the correction of poorly aligned teeth, or jaws that are not developing properly. Orthodontic treatment may include the use of braces, various appliances, or surgical techniques to improve the teeth's function and appearance. For additional referral and treatment information call 816/235-2141.
