Stower's Gift Creates a Graduate Endodontics Program

A gift of $125,000 from Mrs. Virginia G. Stowers will enable the UMKC School of Dentistry to create a four-operatory endodontics clinic that will house a new Advanced Education Program in Endodontics. The gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar by UMKC alumni and friends.

The new clinic will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and be utilized for graduate, undergraduate and professional education.

Mrs. Stowers and her husband, James E. Stowers Jr., who serves as chair of the American Century Companies, are also the co-founders of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research in Kansas City , Mo. , which focuses on cancer and other gene-based diseases.
