Herman Campbell (D.D.S. ’88)
Basehor , Kan.
was honored recently by the UMKC School of Dentistry
for his work with dental students at the Kansas City
Free Health Clinic. Dr. Campbell is transferring to
Buckeye, Ariz. , with the Public Health Department.
Tom Cates (D.D.S. ’84)
Lee’s Summit , Mo.
and his wife, Janel, celebrated the birth of twins,
Nov. 4, 1999 . Carolyn Janise Lena Cates, 6 lbs. 8 oz.,
and Catherine Elizabeth Rispie Cates, 7 lbs. 13 oz.,
join sister Taylor Grace (3). During the pregnancy,
Dr. Cates moved his practice and moved his household
twice. Busy year!
Russell L. Coad (D.D.S. ’85)
Wichita , Kan.
achieved fellowship in Academy of General Dentistry
in July 2000.
Kevin J. Cummings (D.D.S. ’82)
Lee’s Summit , Mo.
has five children (college and high school age). He
opened a free children’s dental clinic at St. Vincent
’s Operation Breakthrough located at 30th and Troost
where he serves as clinic director. He has been the
team dentist for the Kansas City Chiefs football club
for 12 years (He’s on his third coach).
Lynda D. M. Garcia (D.D.S. ’87)
Las Cruces , N.M.
and her husband have adopted two children to complete
their family of six. Tamara (11) and Katerina (9) are
from Russia . Their other children are Weslie (14) and
Kristen (11).
Jerry Johnson (D.D.S. ’85)
Worthington , Minn.
built a new 3,100 sq. ft. office and moved in February
1, 2001 .
Lana Lomax (DH ’86)
Poplar Bluff , Mo.
has worked for 10 years at her present job, four days
a week. She loves to travel in the United States and
abroad. She has gone on three mission trips to South
Africa . She is single and loving it. She enjoys her
dental hygiene work. She is working with many handicapped
patients and doing yearly dental screenings at area
schools.
Pasco W. Scarpella (D.D.S. ’87)
Broomfield , Colo.
has been named editor of the Colorado Dental Association.
In addition to being a member of the Executive Committee,
his duties include chair of the Council on Communications,
editing the monthly newsletter, “Colorado Dentistry,”
the quarterly Journal of the Colorado Dental Association,
as well as overseeing the Colorado Dental AssociAssociation’s
web site.
Lawrence A. Tuttle (D.D.S. ’80)
Hobbs , N.M.
Dr. Tuttle and his wife, Nora, will celebrate their
25th wedding anniversary, August 21, 2001 . Their daughter,
Karen (18), is attending Texas Tech University and their
son, Alan (15), is attending Hobbs High School .
Cindy Caesar Walter (DH ’84)
Kirkwood , Mo.
has taken a break from dental hygiene after 17 years
working full time. She gave birth in June to her third
child, Danielle Elizabeth, who joins siblings Allison
(6) and Kellie (4). She is interested in temporary work
in the St. Louis County area.

Carthage , Mo.
has attended Las Vegas Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry.
