For the third year, local alumni in practice
participated in the Dinner with a Dentist program, which
joins students at the School of Dentistry with alums
for an informal evening of cuisine, questions and answers.
Hosts selected one or more dates between October 23
and November 19, 2001, and determined the time, place
and number of students they wished to invite. Students
signed up for a dinner that fit their schedules. Students
from all classes and programs participated, and hosts
included general practitioners and specialists. Dinners
were scheduled in offices, at private residences and
at area restaurants. Several times two or more dentists
joined together to host a group of students. Nearly
80 students enjoyed the opportunity to meet practicing
dentists. The hosts, too, enjoyed the opportunity to
meet and learn from current students.
