Kansas City Hosts ADA's 142nd Annual Session
Part 2
The ADA and Kansas City proved to be a winning combination for the 142nd Annual Session. The turnout, the entertainment, the education, and the facilities all contributed to making the meeting and the city enjoyable and memorable.

UMKC Dental Alumni President Gary Newman (D.D.S. ’66)
(2nd from right) and his wife, Wanda (cntr), enjoyed the
company of colleagues and friends.

John Killip (D.D.S. ’67), assistant dean for Student Programs at the School of
Dentistry, dressed in Renaissance regalia and posed with the
carrousel that he hand-carved and displayed at the Convention Center.

The ADA exhibitors filled the wide open spaces of H. Roe Bartle Hall’s
nearly 400,000 square feet of column-free space.

Charles Dunlap (D.D.S. ’60) (r), UMKC professor and chair of Oral and
Maxillofacial Pathology, presented the Scientific Program “As Goes Your
Pathology, So Goes Your Practice,” on Saturday.

Dr. Bruce Barker (r), UMKC professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology,
presented the Scientific Program “Twenty Common Lesions and More Ominous
Look-Alikes,” on Sunday.

Fourth-year dental students Ellen Okoniewski (l) and Anjali Rajani
(c) toured the ADA exhibits.

ADA volunteers, wearing bright green jackets, distributed ribbons commemorating
Sept. 11 to attendees at the Opening Ceremony.
