Over the last decade, the research funds awarded to the UMKC School of Dentistry have increased ten-fold. This is because commercial and government organizations are attracted by the human and technological resources available at the School. The increase in funds is directly related to the dental school’s standing in the scientific community. The School is known and recognized for its state-of-the-art facilities, testing/evaluation center, and talented, knowledgeable researchers.

The School prioritizes research, and it is part of its mission to lead the country in developing new concepts and new techniques in oral health. To stay on the forefront, the School is committed to continually upgrading its science laboratories, as well as retaining and attracting top researchers in the field. In addition, the School offers several Academic Programs designed to encourage today’s students to become tomorrow’s researchers.
