Part-Time Adjunct Assistant Professor, Restorative Clinical Sciences, Position 28352

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill part-time generalist positions. The positions are non-benefit eligible, non-tenure track positions at the rank of Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences working two or more days per week. The faculty member will provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students. This includes instruction and evaluation of students in diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, endodontics, and non-surgical periodontics. A DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required. 


Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Position # 34261

The University of Missouri – Kansas City seeks to fill a 100% benefit eligible, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.  The department is responsible for pre-doctoral education, research, patient care, and service. Specific responsibilities will concentrate on pre-doctoral classroom and clinical instruction.  Preferred candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry and should be eligible for licensure in Missouri. Candidates with Missouri licensure may have opportunities for clinical practice.  Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.


Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry Department, Position # 64328

The University of Missouri-Kansas City seeks a full time, non-tenure track, 100% benefit eligible faculty, at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry Department.  This department is responsible for post-doctoral and pre-doctoral education, and patient care in Oral Surgery.  Specific responsibilities will concentrate on pre-doctoral classroom and clinical instruction in Oral Surgery with opportunities for clinical practice for the qualified candidate.  Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, and board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  For non US DDS candidates with US Training and board eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, an international faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service.  Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. 


Department Chair, Associate Professor/ Professor, Periodontics Department, Position # 38700

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking to fill the position of Department Chair at the rank of Associate Professor/Professor (tenure track) in the Periodontics Department. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time positionRank and tenure status will be determined based on experience and credentials. This department is responsible for pre-doctoral and dental specialty students, patient care, service and research in periodontics.  Specific responsibilities of this position include pre-doctoral classroom and clinical instruction and post-doctoral clinical and didactic instruction in periodontics.  A DDS or DMD with eligibility for Missouri licensure and Board eligibility are required. Director, Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program, Clinical Associate/Clinical Professor, Position # 38736

The UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time, 100 % FTE, benefit-eligible Clinical Associate/Clinical Professor to direct the AEGD program. The Program is a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CoDA)-approved residency with 6 first year residents and 2 second year residents. The Director is responsible for overall development and direction of the Program including setting the standards for growth in excellence while maintaining the core direction of broad advanced experience in general dentistry. The Director works with other faculty maintaining the standards required of CoDA for AEGD Programs and has responsibility for coordination of staff in the area and working cooperatively with the faculty and staff of the Dental Faculty Practice.


Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Prosthodontic Faculty, Position 38763

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill the position of prosthodontist. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. The faculty member will provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students. This includes instruction and evaluation of students in removable and fixed prosthodontics, implants, and esthetic dentistry in both the clinic and pre-clinic lab. The faculty member will also provide clinical instruction in diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative dentistry as needed. A DDS/DMD or equivalent and either board eligible or certified in prosthodontics are required. Preference will be given to those with significant clinical experience with a strong emphasis on removable prosthodontics. For non US DDS candidates with US training and board eligibility in prosthodontics, an internationally-trained faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service. Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Restorative Clinical Sciences Department, General Dentist, Position # 38775

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking a general dentist faculty member to fill a position in the Restorative Clinical Science department. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The faculty member will provide clinical instruction and oversight for pre-doctoral dental students. This includes instruction and evaluation of students in diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, removable and fixed prosthodontics, endodontics, and non-surgical periodontics. The faculty member is expected to provide didactic and preclinical lab instruction, as assigned.  A DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required.  Advanced Education in General Dentistry/General Practice Residency training or equivalent is preferred. Part Time Clinical Instructor, Division of Dental Hygiene, Position 43360

The School of Dentistry is seeking a part time, non-benefit eligible, Clinical Instructor to provide clinical instruction to dental hygiene students in the dental hygiene clinic two to three days per week. Qualified applicants must have graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program, have a Bachelor’s degree and be eligible for Missouri licensure and credentialing in clinical instruction methodology. Job responsibilities include supervision and assessment of dental hygiene clinic skills, faculty calibration, HIPPA, OSHA and CPR certification (provided by SOD), and student mentoring.

Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Endodontics Department, Position # 44416

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill an Endodontics position.  The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics. The faculty member will provide classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction for pre-doctoral students and work collaboratively with the School’s Advanced Education Program in Endodontics.  Candidate will create and deliver lecture presentations for lecture and lab classes.  They will also teach clinical endodontics to pre-doctoral students in our main clinic on a daily basis.  Qualified candidates should hold a DDS or DMD and be Board eligible or preferably Board certified in endodontics.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates may be eligible to participate in faculty practice one day per week. Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.


Dental Faculty, Continuous Posting, Position 58422

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill several positions with specific emphases. All positions are a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  A DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required unless otherwise noted.  Qualified candidates may be eligible to participate in faculty practice one day per week. 

Please reference the appropriate emphasis (Prosthodontist or Operative) in your letter of interest to ensure proper routing of your application:

  • Prosthodontist- provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students in the classroom, laboratory and clinic with opportunities for research and clinical practice for the qualified candidate. Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, and advanced training in Prosthodontics. For non US DDS candidates with US training and board eligibility in prosthodontics, an internationally-trained faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service.
  • Operative – provide didactic and laboratory instruction for pre-doctoral dental students with an emphasis on Operative Dentistry.  Clinically, responsibilities will include instruction in all aspects of general dentistry.  Advanced Education in General Dentistry/General Practice Residency training or advanced training in Operative Dentistry is preferred.
