Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Position # 34261

The University of Missouri – Kansas City seeks to fill a 100% benefit eligible, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.  The department is responsible for pre-doctoral education, research, patient care, and service. Specific responsibilities will concentrate on pre-doctoral classroom and clinical instruction.  Preferred candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry and should be eligible for licensure in Missouri. Candidates with Missouri licensure may have opportunities for clinical practice.  Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.


Dental Faculty, Continuous Posting, Position 58422

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill several positions with specific emphases. All positions are a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  A DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required unless otherwise noted.  Qualified candidates may be eligible to participate in faculty practice one day per week. 

Please reference the appropriate emphasis (Prosthodontist or Operative) in your letter of interest to ensure proper routing of your application:

  • Prosthodontist- provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students in the classroom, laboratory and clinic with opportunities for research and clinical practice for the qualified candidate. Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, and advanced training in Prosthodontics. For non US DDS candidates with US training and board eligibility in prosthodontics, an internationally-trained faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service.
  • Operative – provide didactic and laboratory instruction for pre-doctoral dental students with an emphasis on Operative Dentistry.  Clinically, responsibilities will include instruction in all aspects of general dentistry.  Advanced Education in General Dentistry/General Practice Residency training or advanced training in Operative Dentistry is preferred.

Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, multi-discipline Dentist  - Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine - Position # 64988

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking to fill the position of a multi-discipline dentist at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (non-tenure track). The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time position (0.75 FTE) for 3.5 days per week.  Rank will be determined based on experience and credentials. The position activities will cross multiple discipline educational content areas to support the mission of the School in providing quality, broad-based education for DDS and Advanced Education students/residents.  Responsibilities of this position include pre-doctoral didactic instruction; Advanced Education (AE) didactic and seminar instruction; and other limited indirect clinical supervision may be assigned. The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine.
A DDS or DMD with eligibility for Missouri licensure and Board eligibility in Endodontics are required. Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Specific position responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the predoctoral instruction in diagnosis and management of temporo-mandibular disorders/facial pain.
  • Assistance with other instructional areas, as assigned (i.e. Oral Medicine)
  • Course directorship of the AE biomaterials course; assistance in predoctoral biomaterials instruction
  • Willingness to focus learning/preparation in Evidence-based TMD instruction that the School would support
  • Assistance with support in the AE program in Endodontics, including participation in seminars, resident instruction
  • Compliance with CoDA standards, UMKC School and campus policies and UM Collected Rules and Regulations
  • Valuing diversity, appreciation for inclusion
  • Other duties as assigned

Director, Advanced Education Program - Assistant/Associate Professor, Periodontics Department - Position # 64327

The University of Missouri‐Kansas City, School of Dentistry seeks a tenure-track or tenured faculty at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Periodontics for the position of Director of the Advanced Education Program in Periodontics.
Specific responsibilities will concentrate on all aspects of the didactic and clinical training of periodontal residents.  These will include, but are not limited to coordination of all resident didactic curriculum and seminars, organizing and preparing the curriculum, administrative responsibilities, supervisory responsibilities, and clinical coordination of resident training. There are opportunities for research and clinical practice for the qualified candidate. Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, American Board certification in Periodontics, have experience in the placement of dental implants, and be certified in IV Conscious Sedation. Part-Time Adjunct Assistant Professor, Restorative Clinical Sciences, Position 28352

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill part-time generalist positions. The positions are non-benefit eligible, non-tenure track positions at the rank of Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences working two or more days per week. The faculty member will provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students. This includes instruction and evaluation of students in diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, endodontics, and non-surgical periodontics. A DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required. 


Part Time Clinical Instructor, Division of Dental Hygiene, Position 43360

The School of Dentistry is seeking a part time, non-benefit eligible, Clinical Instructor to provide clinical instruction to dental hygiene students in the dental hygiene clinic two to three days per week. Qualified applicants must have graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program, have a Bachelor’s degree and be eligible for Missouri licensure and credentialing in clinical instruction methodology. Job responsibilities include supervision and assessment of dental hygiene clinic skills, faculty calibration, HIPPA, OSHA and CPR certification (provided by SOD), and student mentoring.
