Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry Department, Position # 37690

The University of Missouri-Kansas City seeks a full time, non-tenure track, 100% benefit eligible faculty, at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry Department.  This department is responsible for post-doctoral and pre-doctoral education, and patient care in Oral Surgery.  Specific responsibilities will concentrate on pre-doctoral classroom and clinical instruction in Oral Surgery with opportunities for clinical practice for the qualified candidate.  Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, and board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  For non US DDS candidates with US Training and board eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, an international faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service.  Interviews of qualified candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. 


Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Prosthodontic Faculty, Position 38763

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill the position of prosthodontist. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. The faculty member will provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students. This includes instruction and evaluation of students in removable and fixed prosthodontics, implants, and esthetic dentistry in both the clinic and pre-clinic lab. The faculty member will also provide clinical instruction in diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative dentistry as needed. A DDS/DMD or equivalent and either board eligible or certified in prosthodontics are required. Preference will be given to those with significant clinical experience with a strong emphasis on removable prosthodontics. For non US DDS candidates with US training and board eligibility in prosthodontics, an internationally-trained faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service. Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Restorative Clinical Sciences Department, General Dentist, Position # 38775

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking a general dentist faculty member to fill a position in the Restorative Clinical Science department. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The faculty member will provide clinical instruction and oversight for pre-doctoral dental students. This includes instruction and evaluation of students in diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, removable and fixed prosthodontics, endodontics, and non-surgical periodontics. The faculty member is expected to provide didactic and preclinical lab instruction, as assigned.  A DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required.  Advanced Education in General Dentistry/General Practice Residency training or equivalent is preferred. Qualified candidates may be eligible to participate in faculty practice one day per week.


Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Division of Dental Hygiene, Position 36651

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Division of Dental Hygiene is seeking a faculty member to fill the position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, non-tenure track position, working four days per week (80% FTE), at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Division of Dental Hygiene. This is a temporary position; therefore, reappointment in each year will be contingent upon Department need, funding availability, and your successful job performance based upon annual employment evaluations. The position duties include: teaching in the clinical entry level program clinic with first and second year hygiene students; serving as didactic Course Director; providing service appropriate to the position; and advancing the goals of the Division of Dental Hygiene Strategic Plan. Candidates must have experience as a clinical dental hygienist and clinical instructor experience is preferred.

Required qualifications include:
a. Master’s degree in dental hygiene education
b. unencumbered, active dental hygiene license in Missouri, or eligible for Missouri Licensure
c. expertise and experience as a dental hygienist
d. record of quality teaching and service appropriate to the rank
e. excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Fellow, Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry Department, Position # 39059

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking to fill two Fellow positions in the Department of Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry. The positions are 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Fellow.  The Fellows will provide pre-doctoral dental student clinical instruction at the dental school and take calls at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at Truman Medical Center.  A DDS or DMD with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required. Part Time Clinical Instructor, Division of Dental Hygiene, Position 43360

The School of Dentistry is seeking a part time, non-benefit eligible, Clinical Instructor to provide clinical instruction to dental hygiene students in the dental hygiene clinic two to three days per week. Qualified applicants must have graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program, have a Bachelor’s degree and be eligible for Missouri licensure and credentialing in clinical instruction methodology. Job responsibilities include supervision and assessment of dental hygiene clinic skills, faculty calibration, HIPPA, OSHA and CPR certification (provided by SOD), and student mentoring.


Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Endodontics Department, Position # 44416

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill an Endodontics position.  The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics. The faculty member will provide classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction for pre-doctoral students and work collaboratively with the School’s Advanced Education Program in Endodontics.  Candidate will create and deliver lecture presentations for lecture and lab classes.  They will also teach clinical endodontics to pre-doctoral students in our main clinic on a daily basis.  Qualified candidates should hold a DDS or DMD and be Board eligible or preferably Board certified in endodontics.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Restorative Clinical Sciences Department, Position # 58421

The University of Missouri – Kansas City seeks to fill a 100% benefit eligible, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Restorative Clinical Sciences Department.  The department is responsible for pre-doctoral education, research, patient care, and service. Dental Faculty, Continuous Posting, Position 58422

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill several positions with specific emphases. All positions are a 100% benefit eligible, full time, non-tenure track at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  A DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri licensure is required unless otherwise noted.  Qualified candidates may be eligible to participate in faculty practice one day per week. 

Please reference the appropriate emphasis (Prosthodontist or Operative) in your letter of interest to ensure proper routing of your application:

  • Prosthodontist- provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students in the classroom, laboratory and clinic with opportunities for research and clinical practice for the qualified candidate. Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree, and advanced training in Prosthodontics. For non US DDS candidates with US training and board eligibility in prosthodontics, an internationally-trained faculty DDS program is available after an initial period of service.
  • Operative – provide didactic and laboratory instruction for pre-doctoral dental students with an emphasis on Operative Dentistry.  Clinically, responsibilities will include instruction in all aspects of general dentistry.  Advanced Education in General Dentistry/General Practice Residency training or advanced training in Operative Dentistry is preferred.

Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) – Position 38735

UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full time, 100% FTE, benefit eligible position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the AEGD program. The AEGD program is a CODA approved residency for 6 first year residents and 2 second year residents.  The faculty member will coordinate clinical activities and participate in the didactic activities of the program.  The candidate will be expected to have a proven record of clinical skills that cover the field of comprehensive general dentistry.  The candidate must be well versed in the surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry including the virtual placement of dental implants utilizing a CBCT and surgical guides.

Qualified candidates should hold a DDS or DMD with 10 years of clinical experience and must be eligible for clinical licensure in Missouri. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate with prior teaching experience.  The successful candidate is expected to be able to provide direct clinical supervision of residents and to provide clinical care in the faculty practice.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Part-Time Adjunct Assistant Professor, Restorative Clinical Sciences, Position 28352

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking faculty members to fill part-time generalist positions. The positions are non-benefit eligible, non-tenure track positions at the rank of Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Clinical Sciences working two or more days per week. The faculty member will provide instruction for pre-doctoral dental students.
